Toronto Trip (Day 1 March 22/06) COLDPLAY Concert!

So we arrived in Toronto at supper time on tuesday and then Travelled to Aaron and Kylas place. Where we got to meet the new addition to their house, Abbey a cute little golden retriver puppy.

We spent the day wednesday wandering around downtown Toronto and shopping at the Eaton center.

We then met up with Jacob’s sister Jennie and her friends for lunch. We went to a Thai food restuarant called the “Salad King”, which I thought was weird. Anyway I ended up getting green curry shrimp, which was really good but also very hot and I ordered the mild. They had mild, medium, hot, 1 chili, 2 chili, 5 chili, 10 chili and 20 chili as their hottness rating scale. There were warnings after each one on the menu, beside the 20 chili it said “may cause stomache upset.” I could see why my mild was hot enough for me.

We went back to Aarons to visit the puppy and give Jennie her digital camera. When aaron got back from work we all took the subway downtown to meet Kyla at Jack Astors for a pre-concert supper. I had some Torando twisters (slushy liquor drink, very yummy) with supper. After supper we headed over to the Air Canada Center, there were alot of people trying to buy and sell tickets along the way. Once inside a bought a t-shirt!!!!

Our seats were in the upper bowl pretty high up, but they were still good. Richard Ashcroft (from the verve) opened for Coldplay, but he sucked. At one point he started dancing wildly on an amp, I’m pretty sure he was on acid or something.

Then came coldplay and they were fantastic. Everyone was standing, dancing and cheering. Even though we were in the upper bowl we stood for the whole concert, because everyone else was. They interacted with the crowd alot and it was so wonderful. I was singing, dancing and clapping. The others made fun of me because I screamed at times.

Since they were filming it for the live DVD there were cameras everywhere around the stage and Chris kept saying you need to be the best audience ever and he got the whole arena to sing along at times. They played all my faves except one, but it didn’t matter it was so good. Jake and I had such a great time and thought it was an awesome concert we wanted to try and buy tickets off the street for thursday night too, but we didn’t. After the concert it was pretty wild out on the streets so we got a cab back to aaron and kylas place.

That was end of day 1 and it was great!!!!!!!!

Off to Toronto
